Days after footage of vintage Lady Gaga, all brunette and be-pantsed, bum-rushed the internet, an eight-year-old Katy Perry clip has now popped up on YouTube, showing her in the days when she was a Christian artist known by her given name, Katy Hudson.

KP takes the ‘Best Start on the U.S. Digital Chart by a Female Artist’ record after shifting 2.5 m downloads of ‘I Kissed A Girl’ and ‘Hot N Cold’.

Britney is noted as being the youngest female artist to have five of her albums reach Number 1. She also sold a whopping 37 million records worldwide before turning 20, making her the ‘All-Time Best-Selling Teenage Artist.’

Rihanna's record is based on the 2.5 million downloads of ‘Umbrella’ she sold in the UK making her the ‘Best-Selling Download Female Artist in the U.K’.

Pop star Katy Perry has carved a niche for herself in the glamorous world of celebrity by adopting the clothes and hair styling of 1940s pinup models.

That is according to West Georgian, which highlighted the importance of colour and contrast to her constantly changing ensemble.

The US newspaper noted that the I Kissed a Girl singer also makes great use of various hair accessories to complement her style and is not afraid to make statements with her earrings and bracelets.

It suggested that the success of her look lies partly in its ability to strike the right balance between her hair colouring and makeup.

"She often wears a fiery red lip colour with subtle eye makeup to keep her lips the focal point of her face," the West Georgian said.

Singer Katy Perry has disclosed that she likes Scandinavian pop and wants her new album to have that flavour. The 24-year-old is presently thinking of ideas for her second record after the success of her official debut record 'One For The Boys'.

Contactmusic quoted her as saying: "I'm kind of thinking I want to do my record like a mesh between 'Lovefool' by the Cardigans and 'The Sign' by Ace of Base. I want to make songs that people want to hold hands and roller-skate to."

Perry, who is preparing for the release of 'Starstrukk', for which she teamed up with 3OH!, says: "I know that after being on the road for about a year and half, what I'm missing is a little bit of that 'Starstrukk' flavour. The new music will have that beat, that movement a little bit."

Beth Ditto is still angry at Katy Perry for "faking gay" - because the I Kissed A Girl singer doesn't understand the struggles homosexual women face.

The Gossip star sparked a pop feud with Perry earlier this year over her hit song, insisting it is "offensive" to gay culture. Perry hit back at Ditto for her "tacky" attempt to antagonize her - but the issue is still a sore one for the Standing in the Way of Control singer.

She branded Perry a "boner dyke" for pretending to be gay in her songs and music videos, without understanding what discrimination lesbian and gay people have to put up with.

Ditto says, "We call them 'boner dykes' actually, it was (Gossip drummer) Hannah that talked s#*t about Katy Perry. I don't even know her. But it's a sensitive subject: we're talking about what's really going on for my people. I don't think people understand how real it is. I had surgery about three years ago. I was in the hospital - in a liberal part of the country - and my family was 3,000 miles away, and (my partner) Freddie was by my side. And Freddie got chased out of the place and treated like s**t because she wasn't 'family'.

Reportedly, at Lady Gaga’s afterparty at Avenue, the twosome were spotted making out. A spywitness said, “They were sitting very close together, flirting and whispering to each other with their faces very close. Then Russell leaned in for a long kiss.
