Pop icon Katy Perry finds herself in the middle of a $2 million lawsuit with a British hair care company. Perry had a two-year written contract agreement with “ghd (good hair day)” to promote the hair care product line starting in 2011 for $4.5 million.

According to Katy’s agent, the company who makes the product, Jemella Group, actually owes her $2 million based on an oral agreement to extend her contract. In their legal documents, Jemella Group actually refutes the claim that there was an oral agreement and did not renew Katy’s contract. Why? Well, they say that Ms. Perry is just not as popular in Europe as she used to be and feel it’s time to let her go.

Perry’s agent has been threatening to sue Jemella Group for the $2 million, so the company asked the court to block Perry and her team from filing a lawsuit. Despite the company’s efforts, Perry’s rep insists they will pursue the case should Jemella not follow through on the alleged oral agreement, "Jemella's attempt to embarrass Ms. Perry by including defamatory statements about her in a public filing is shameful.”

In a statement to TMZ, Perry says, "They're backing out of the deal because of an ownership change, and just throwing shade to hide their bad faith."Sounds a little sketch! Unfortunately, it’s hard to prove the existence of an oral agreement. We’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out!

Pretty as a picture! Newly single singer Katy Perry made a colorful appearance at the Lacoste Live Desert Pool Party at Coachella on Saturday, April 13, with a skirt and bra top featuring the face of artist Salvador Dali. The "Part of Me" singer showed off her trim midriff in the fun getup, which consisted of a high-waisted tropical-colored skirt and string halter top. She topped the breezy California look off with a pair of long dangling earrings, towering white pumps and a set of cool stunner shades.

Perry, 28, was spotted taking in the musical acts the night before, including the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, on Friday, April 12. She even joined pals Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson at the set for L.A.-based hip hop group Jurassic 5. The singer has been busy since her second-time split from ex-boyfriend John Mayer, 35, just last month. At the Kids Choice Awards on March 23, Perry walked away with the Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Female Singer, beating out the likes of Taylor Swift, Adele and Pink.

"I love the kids!" she screamed upon receiving her award from the guys of Big Time Rush. "Stay safe and stay in school. Have a good time, stay in school!"Perry and Mayer pulled the plug on their whirlwind romance in mid-March after dating since last July. They briefly split for the first time in August 2012, but reunited not soon afterward, with Perry even introducing Mayer to her family over the holidays. "They've broken up before so it's hard to tell," a pal tells Us Weekly about whether the couple is done for good this time. "She's changed a lot since she's been with him … [you] can't argue that she has been in love."

Katy Perry stopped to pose for photos with the classic Lacoste alligator today as she arrived at the Lacoste L!ve Coachella party. Katy, who has been making the rounds at the festival this weekend, donned a tropical-themed bra top and miniskirt by Dolce & Gabbana to the soiree; she even carried a matching pineapple purse.

Last night, she took in some music at Coachella with her friends Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. The popstar was as stunning as ever as she stepped out in a dandelion-print dress to attend Coach's third annual Evening of Cocktails and Shopping benefit. You have to see how things play out", the source said. Another friend added: "She's leaving the window open. Katy Perry is selling the home she bought with ex-husband Russell Brand back in 2011 for $6.925 million, according to celebrity real estate blogger The Real Estalker. The mansion, known as Park Hill, sits on a double-gated, three-acre compound with private lagoon pool and sweeping views of West Hollywood from the backyard.

In addition to the 7,000-square-foot main home, there are also two guest houses and a carriage house for auto storage. Perry and Brand originally bought the Mediterranean-style estate from former National Lampoon chief executive Daniel Laikin back in June 2011. Neither ever moved into the home, which according to The Real Estalker's sources Brand gave to Perry during their divorce.

Katy Perry has thrown herself into charity work following her split from John Mayer. The 28-year-old 'Wide Awake' singer took her first trip to Madagascar in support of UNICEF this week to help draw attention to the importance of providing education and help to children on the African island, which is one of the poorest countries in the world.

The brunette beauty, who witnessed a range of programmes in education, nutrition, health, child protection, sanitation and hygiene, admitted she is grateful for the experience and said in a statement: ''In less than one week here in Madagascar, I went from crowded city slums to the most remote villages and my eyes were opened wide by the incredible need for a healthy life - nutrition, sanitation, and protection against rape and abuse - which UNICEF is stepping in to help provide. ''I am grateful to UNICEF for giving me the opportunity to see first-hand how their programmes make a real difference in children's lives. Support for UNICEF is saving children, I am a witness to it.''Katy participated in several local activities by hand-washing clothes and playing with children in a playground. She also pumped water at a well and visited a nutrition centre to learn about the high rates of malnutrition in the country.

International donors had frozen development aid to Madagascar following a political crisis in 2009, preventing large numbers of the population from accessing basic health care and primary education.
Katy has been keeping busy since breaking up with her on/off boyfriend of seven months again recently.
Although the couple have called time on their romance, friends previously admitted they won't be surprised if they get back together again in the near future. An insider recently said the split is ''more of a break than a break-up. You'll probably see them hanging out sooner then later and hooking up again. They remain very friendly.''

So, following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie, 37, and Madonna, 54, it’s now Katy Perry’s turn to give something back. The ex Mrs Russell Brand has spent the last few days visiting some of the world’s poorest children in Madagascar in support of Unicef.

The 28-year-old met abused and abandoned children in the slums of Antananarivo and joined in a game of skipping at a school in Sahavola which had been rebuilt after being struck by a cyclone. ‘In less than one week here in Madagascar, I went from crowded city slums to the most remote villages and my eyes were opened wide by the incredible need for a healthy life – nutrition, sanitation, and protection against rape and abuse – which Unicef is stepping in to help provide,’ said the Firework singer.
